Program

Meeting in the early morning in Piazza Grande in Locarno (200m).

The first part of the climb, entirely on a paved road, winds up the hill passing from Orselina and then higher and higher until it reaches Monte Brè (1'002m).

After the town begins a stretch of dirt road with more demanding slopes. Along the way there are spectacular views of the Centovalli. After about three kilometers, the single trail section begins with alternating flat sections with a slight slope that leads to Alpe Cardada (1'486m).

Once we reach the Capanna dello Stallone we will take a break, sipping a soda or enjoying some house specialties.  From here on it's all downhill with a quick serpentine single trail that descends along the Val Resa. Once out of the woods, take the road again and tackle the last stretch of descent towards Locarno.

The route is of medium difficulty with some technically more demanding sections alternating with more flowing and simple sections. The most experienced and trained bikers, once they reach Alpe Cardada,  they can continue up to Cimetta and reach the Cima del Trosa (1'869m) from where they can enjoy a long and spectacular descent that joins the described path of Val Resa from the Lego Mountains.
